Tribute to Flight 5191

I'm sure you have all heard about "Comair Flight 5191" that crashed in Kentucky.

The Salvation Army responded to Blue Grass Airport yesterday after learning of the tragic crash of Comair flight 5191 that killed 49 people. The regional jet had left the gate before dawn with 50 people aboard. Somehow, the pilots mistakenly turned onto the wrong runway, a runway that was too short for the twin-engine plane, and tried to take off which failed. The plane crashed in a field just beyond Lexington's Blue Grass Airport.

Still today, The Salvation Army is continuing to provide assistance to the families of those who were lost in the worst U.S. plane disaster since 2001. Two Salvation Army emergency disaster services vehicles continue to be stationed near the airport and have already served 130 meals as well as snacks. There are trained Salvation Army volunteers and pastors on site who are providing emotional and spiritual care to the victims famillies.

The specific victims and their famillies need your continual prayers and support as they are going through this hard time.
